Sometimes you want a haircut
Sometimes you need a haircut
Sometimes other people tell you it's time for a haircut
and
Sometimes you light you hair on fire and you HAVE to get a haircut
Yesterday while cleaning up the food that James had thrown on the floor I stood up and leaned over the counter to throw the food in the sink. I had forgotten that I had lit a candle. I remembered when all the sudden I felt some hot heat by my face and saw my hair go up in flames.
I feel that I am really really blessed - first of all I still have hair
Second - Nothing but my hair burned. It could have been so much worse.
Third- I was able to get into get my hair cut same day as the incident
Fourth - I thought I would leave with a short hair cut, nope, still have the length, just more layers (which lets be honest - my hair needed a boost anyway)
Fifth - James didn't see it. I think that would have been traumatizing to see your mom on fire.
Sixth - The smell was terrible but it had cleared out for the most part when my Visiting Teachers came a half hour later.
Seventh - Still so so so grateful that I have hair and nothing else burned.
I'll post pictures later.
I threw the candle away.

Oh.my.goodness! Annie, Shannon and Rick got haircuts yesterday, but thankfully not for that reason! SO glad you escaped almost unscathed. Can't wait for photos.
You are extremely blessed. This happened to my friends little girl and she almost died. Over two years later and she is still regrowing skin on her forehead. I am glad you came out unscathed and with a fab new haircut.
whoa....that's so scary!! i'm glad you're ok...and that your hair somewhat survived :) your little man is such a cutie!!
I thought your hair looked great today!! So glad it was only the hair!!
That is nuts!!! I couldn't believe it when I was reading the story. Glad it wasn't worse as it could have been. But not something you want to have happen ever!!!
Oh and p.s. LOVE James 20 month old pictures. He is to dang cute and I miss him so much. And you guys of course. Tell our kids to stop growing up, it's crazy how fast the time has gone. It feels like yesterday when we were going out for one of our many walks with them when they were only a few months old.
So glad your ok! Yikes! I'm sure your hair looks great.
Um, out of control! I'm glad for you AND James. It made me laugh the way you told it though.
What?!? Wow, that is really crazy:) And you are definitely lucky to come away with just a fab new do!!
You are hilarious....
But ya, glad you came out unscathed. Could have been so awful.
