How is it possible for a baby to poop...just once and have it be in the front and the back of the diaper but not in the middle? Furthermore, how is it possible that poop can shoot straight up the back of the baby without getting any in the diaper? I just don't know that I will ever understand how that happens.
While we are the subject of Poop and well...Logan....here are a few other mysteries.
For three weeks of his life he only pooped for Rocky. Either when Rocky was home or holding him.... and Rocky is rarely home so this made this little poop thing really weird. Logan would go for a day or two with nothing. Rocky would get home, hold him and within 5 minutes we would have poop. We now affectionately call Rocky the Poop Whisperer.
** Logan has since pooped on me a few times .... and the strange thing was I was sooooo excited. **
Logan still doesn't poop every day. If he does poop it is usually just once. My guess is his body is just learning how to use that system. Although today his system must have really kicked in and enjoyed itself because we are on poop #5.
Now that you are all clued in on Logan's poop we will call it a night.

Oh my gosh Joni. You had me laughing out loud with the "poop whisperer...." That just made my day. Baby pooping habits do boggle the mind, don't they? Jacob was a bit of a poop mystery too. It all gets figured out...eventually
I was laughing out loud as well…I wish so badly that we had lived closer in Ohio. I was SO concerned about lyla's poop habits, now 1T of prune juice does the trick and this lady poops at the SAME time everyday…and like you, I couldn't be happier :)
And I thought Rocky was there for residency and not poop whispering!!! DIdn't know that was an option. Does he do consulting for those that need that kind of help?
I can't believe how much he looks like James! Hope you can come to some kind of poop equilibrium. :)
Oh Jones, you crack me up. BTW, did you know that there are 3 of us USU alumni that had a baby within a month of each other and all named that baby Logan?? Wouldn't it be crazy if they all ended up at USU together someday?
only a mother can fully appreciate a post all about poop and not be grossed out (not sure if you saw one of my recent posts, but it was about jet playing w/ his poop). UGH!
Anyway, i feel like since kids have been thrown into the mix i'm tracking bowel movements: frequency, shape, consistency....what did we think about before becoming mothers?!
Logan is adorable! I hope you guys are enjoying your new place...minus the leaks :(
Great post! The mystery of poop has eluded me for quite some time as well.
