10 Months

Logan has had a big milestone month.

He is crawling.

He is climbing.

He is waving.

He is getting his two bottom teeth.

It has been a super busy month for him.

He is learning to give kisses.
He wants to eat what we are eating.
He loves his big brother for the most part and gets super excited to see him in the mornings and after his naps.
He takes two naps a day.
He loves to be outside.
He loves his daddy and it seems like dad is in the running for the favorite parent.
He plays really well by himself - something his brother still struggles with.
He has a big sweet smile and is always flirting with the ladies.
He gets called a girl a lot even while wearing boy clothes.
Logan is still a little kicker - his legs are nearly always in motion.

I think he is so kissable and he pretty much gets a billion kisses a day from me.  Add in Dad and James and his little face is well loved.
He gives great little hugs and sometimes will pat you on the back with the hug.
He always want to play with whatever James is playing with.  This is hard for James and consequently hard for Logan.
He goes to bed around 6:30 and wakes up around 6:30 but stays in bed until 7 or 7:30.
first taste of sand

He only gets his binky when he is in bed and sometimes at Church - He always seems to get loud at church.
He sleeps with 2 binkys and his rabbit.
He is just the sweetest little man ever.  We are loving him right up.

So what are you doing today?

So what are you doing today?   James asks this all the time...to me...while we are doing something.  It's my own fault.  I always prompt him to say it when he is talking with family on the computer.  Its cute and funny.

So here are some of our doings

Running at the park

and running and running and running at the park

 Lots of walks
Standing up

Going for a train ride

coloring eggs

time outs

being crazy

Jumping off the couch and other naughty things that mom encouraged one day

playing all things Ironman

wearing large hats outside - looking like a pioneer

crying

chatting on the phone - this particular conversation was telling Boppy about a Binky/bunny that broke.

loving dad when he is home.

As you can see we are just busy bees.  :)

Logan - 9 Months

This happy little guy is all smiles these days.

He is 17lbs 13oz. and 26.75 inches tall.  I have no idea the percentages.  I'm struggling with his pediatrician.  But that is another story that I don't need to share, yet.

Loagie is starting to rock back and forth but has yet to pull all the crawling fundamentals together.
His rolling is reaching a professional level.  He rolls to most things he wants.  He rolls when he is getting his diaper changed.  He rolls in his sleep and bothers his brother.  He is a good roller.

He is Loving James more and more.
He really likes sitting in front of the window and looking outside.
He just finished swimming lessons and in my opinion he was the best baby swimmer there - meaning - think he tolerated everything the best and he was the youngest.
He loves to play with his brothers toys.
He eats any baby food I give him.  I can't tell if he has any favorites.
He is just starting to put things with a different texture in his mouth and try to keep them in there.  (like cheerios)
He takes two naps a day - sometimes 3.
He sleeps from 6:30ish to 7:00ish.
He still only says mama.
He wants to hold anything/everything that I hold.
He loves to be carried.
He is getting harder and harder at church and only likes to walk the halls. (Takes after his Grandpa S.)
He likes to have stories read to him and really likes to close the book after every page.
He is super loving mostly to me but every once in a while he gives hugs to others too.  I think James and I are the only ones lucky enough to get open mouth kisses all over our faces.
He likes being in the stroller and watching other kids play.  When he can't see other kids playing he wants to get out.  He is very content when we are moving.
I love getting him out of bed.  When he sees me he gets the biggest smile, moves his arms super fast and kicks like crazy.
He does have his rough times.  That would be every afternoon.  Usually around 2:30 to 5:30.  He gets super needy.

Right now I feel like he is in a good spot and is so so fun.

Is less really more?

I have a friend who recently took a trip to Mexico.  While there she attended church with her kids.  She has a son in nursery and had taken him to nursery class to find that there was one toy for the 5 kids to share and they were so excited to share that one toy with her son because he was new.   She had wondered if they only had one toy or if that is what they thought church policy was.  Turns out they only had one toy.  She is awesome and putting together a box of toys to be delivered to them.  I'm sure the kids are going to love it.

For some reason I have been thinking about this tons.  I was touched that little nursery kids would be so excited to share their one toy with someone they didn't know.  If you aren't familiar  nursery kids are 18 months to 3 years old.  WOW!  James has like 5 billion toys and has a hard time sharing one.

If James only had one toy would he be more likely to share?  Would it mean more to him to see a happy friend because he shared?

I really do think that Less is MORE in most cases.  Especially with material things.  While I know this it is so hard to put in play.  I'm really good at buying THINGS.

All in all I have pondered what James would do/what I would do if I removed all of his toys but one?

My mom used to/well still gets rid of THINGS all the time.  We have gone without couches and a tv.  You had to be careful of what you left lying around the house.  It might come up missing one day.  If you were really lucky you could find it once again at the DI (thrift store).

Have you ever considered simplifying?  If yes, what have you done?

I'm off to ponder more less is more thoughts.

3 Years Old

Today James turned 3 years old (March 17th).  He has been so excited about his birthday.  I'm not sure of his stats as far as growth goes.  We will get those in a few weeks.  It is safe to say that he is growing and not a baby anymore.
Just checking out his trusty gun

I'm going to post his 20 Birthday Questions but wanted to remember a few things about James.

Sheriff James
He is still talking up a storm.  He LOVES to yell and yell and yell.  He is very loud....pretty much all the time.  This isn't ideal at church during sacrament meeting.

Cowboy crack.
He can count to 15....almost 20.

He starting to pick up on the alphabet
Loves blowing bubbles

He is learning lots of fun songs.  He LOVES "once there was a snowman."

He loves to play with me.

Loving the clothes Grammy made him.
He is sleeping with Logan and loving it but NOT loving it.  He say's that Logan is too loud.

He has been talking a lot about knowing the "name of your heart."  His is James, mine is Mom, Dad's is dad and he just doesn't know Logans.  Maybe he will with time.
crying because he didn't want his picture taken

He loves to be Spiderman and Ironman.  His sound effects are awesome.  "Pew Pew" for Ironman and "pshhh" for his spiderman webshooters.

Typical James laying in the road.
He loves dirt and rocks and really LOVEs to throw dirt and rocks.

He really likes peanut butter and ketchup.

Showing great grandma the popcorn on the tree
He loves to ichat/facetime/skype with family online.

He still has his binky, lovingly known as Bunny.  (Sadly she will be leaving us soon....like tonight, if I am brave enough)

trying to fit two little people in a one little person car.
He loves his green blanket and his animal blanket.

He is almost fully potty trained.  He just needs help pulling down and pulling up his pants...and wiping.  Oh and getting on the toilet.  Okay - yes, we still have work to do there.
Flying the firetruck kite

He is really really really stretching me as a mom.  Some days I don't know if I will be able to make it another 5 minutes without completely losing it.  But somehow I am surviving with this little man.

He is a delight and so so hard all at the same time.  He gives the best hugs and kisses.
The next few are a little superhero moves series....enjoy

We had a little birthday party

Laughing at the picture of himself in the card

Loving the big bucks he got in the mail
Aunt Jacque sent him an "Ironman monster."

Headed downstairs for a movie and surprise....more presents

Gum from Logan

His Ironman suit.

Happy Birthday buddy.
