6th place is better than 7th

Friday the company I work for, Corporate Alliance, participated in the Kids on the Move Corporate Sports Challenge. This is one of the events that we look forward to as a company. Each team has 10 players, 5 girls and 5 boys, and they compete in 10 different challenges. Such as the Gladiator Relay, 5 on 5 Basketball, Canoe races, Quarterback challenge, golf chipping challenge, etc. This year as we prepared to compete in the Canoe race my team thought that they had a brilliant idea that would save us a lot of time. Now I and my partner in the Canoe, Kip, did not think that it was the best idea. I was sure that they were trying to dump me in the water. That is exactly what happened. I don't think that the Canoe made it all the way into the water but I sure did. Thanks team. That wasn't the highlight of the day. But winning the Quarterback challenge was. As a team we were totally awesome. And when they announced that we won you would have thought that we had won the whole competition. It was great. As a whole we placed 6th which is better than last year when we placed 7th. If we keep it up in 6 years we will take first place. Watch OUT!Friday night I went to my cousins husband, Jake's, surprise birthday party. Jake walked into the party without us being told he was there. It turned out that the surprise was on us. It was funny. Surprise or not Heather did a great job with the party and I'm sure everyone there had a great time. Although I am a little disappointed that I did not win the prize for the oddest items in a purse. I had 4 hats. What is odder than that?

Saturday Rocky and I went out on a double date with some of my friends from High school, Alex and Molly. They are so great. Alex and Rocky were both wearing very similar outfits. I thought it was so funny. When does that happen to guys? Rocky says that it is more common because guys don't have as many choices as girls. I say whatever Rock. I've never seen it happen before. Thanks to Alex, Molly and Rocky for being a good sports with my picture taking.

Now finally today...Mothers day. I went to two Sacrament meetings today and got to hear from both primary's. I love it when the little kids sing in Sacrament meeting. I can't help but laugh. In one of the meetings after each song was over a little kid would yell out little comments like "let's do it again!" and "are we done now." Another fun thing in Sacrament meeting was the flashlight that was on a set of keys that was on the podium because someone had left them in the Sunday school room was flashing on and off all during the meeting. It was facing the congregation and seemed to have some sort of short in it because it was going on and off by itself. It was kind of hard to not notice because 1) the beam was very bright and had a blue tint to it and 2) they were my keys. Oops.

To my mom, you are so wonderful, I miss you too! To my mother in law, Cyndi, I'm loving the opportunities that I am getting to visit with you and get to know you better. You just amaze me. I love both of you so much!

To my Utarded kids Rachel (Geena Davis)McAdams and James Marsden You actually do not look anything like James MarDSen) I love checking into your blog of the week. I can only say this. Each of you have magnificent mothers. I am so glad that you recognize that. Both of you are spectacular people and the vast majority of that happens because of the mothers that you have. As for the competion Joni. Congratulations on winning the whole kit and Kaboodle. You are NUMBER UNO"!!!!
As you know already, in the world of multiple activity competitions whenever a team wins the football related challenge that is an automatic FIRST PLACE OVERALL So, you did it. You gold medaled. You will come to understand more and more that NOTHING outdoes football and football trumps everything, once you get planted at THE Ohio State University. I am proud of you. Good night now. I love you two....daddy dick
