The blanket update
So here is what happened. After making a few phones calls and the store backtracking on what they had originally told me, they asked me to bring the blanket in so their seamstress man could give us an estimate on how much it would cost to fix it. This was absolutely ridiculous to me. The man already made it look awful with the first repair he made. They also told me over and over again that the blanket was really old and that is why their machine ripped it. Yes, they finally admitted that it was the machine that ripped it, but only be cause my blanket was old. So I asked Rocky to step in. He took the blanket in for me (I actually had enrichment so I couldn't go anyway) and showed them all the tears and cuts. The woman still wanted the seamstress man to look at it. She kept assuring Rocky that he was really good. Rocky then pointed out what he had all ready done and said that it looked pretty amateur to him. She looked an then agreed. Rocky said "All we want is our money back." She said that she would talk to her manager. The manager didn't call so I called her and she was too busy to talk to me. She finally did call back and left a message saying that they would give us a refund and also mentioned that the reason it happened was because the blanket was so old. This was so odd to me because the blanket isn't old, we rarely use it. Once we got the blanket back it looked very very old. Oh well we got what we asked for in the end. Although I probably won't take anything back there again. It was too much of a run a round. Click on the link "there" if you don't want to take your blankets there either (it should show up brown).

i am glad you got your money back. that is too bad about the blanket though :(
It's too bad they wouldn't replace the blanket as well. At least you don't have to deal with them any more.
At least you got a refund, I'm bummed about your down blanket--those things are expensive. Now I know where NOT to take Phil's suits to get drycleaned. Thanks for the tip.
oh brother...what punks...i'm glad that they finally refunded the money back...lam-e-o. ps: the link didn't work, but I don't want to take anything "there" either.
Wow, and this isn't your first ohio adventure...lucky girl!!!
Joni!
I bought a bedspread one winter and Gentry smeared a banana on it. I took it to the dry cleaner to get cleaned and it shrunk. They had followed the directions of the manufacturer cleaning, but still it was much smaller than when I had originally purchased it. Anyway, the dry cleaner offered to pay me back for the damage they had caused (ie: refund me for the blanket, I still had the receipt) even though it was not their fault.
You should possibly think about making them refund you the amount of your blanket. This was obviously not your fault and they should be responsible for the damage they caused. Seriously.
Your poor blanket sounds like it has seen better days. Glad you at least got your $ back. What is up with people just not being accountable for actions?????
Good for you for making them 'fess up and give you you're money back.
