We are getting so excited for the little guy to officially join the family....meaning that I'm not the only one who carries him around. Its so fun to feel him little kicks and movements. Not so much fun to feel the ones the go to the ribs. Luckily he has only done that once, so far. I'm okay with it just being once.
Some things that I find are funny at this point in my pregnancy.
My belly button goes in and out when I laugh.
Bending over usually requires some sort of grunt.
I've managed to get some cankles without rolling my ankle.
I've only shaved my legs twice. Rocky is sweet and says that he can't really tell.
Waking up to go to the bathroom, finding that I have been sleeping on my back, and my attempt to walk to the bathroom. (I think it probably looks pretty funny)
Some things that I am questioning at this point in my pregnancy.
Is the facial fat really necessary?
Can my belly get any bigger?
Are there going to be leakage problems before the little guy comes?
Can I make it without buying bigger clothes?
Time is going so slow and yet so fast. YIKES!

I begged and cried at my last 3 appointments, finally at 39 weeks she agreed to induce. Don't let anyone tell you that pitocin isn't worth it (I had so many people try to tell me that because it strengthens contractions they would never do it again)--it is worth it! The end is so terrible, I think it has to be so you have the willpower to get through delivery. Good luck!
Good luck with getting an induction in Ohio. :) Just do some serious step climbing and he could be here at 38 1/2 weeks! And leakage problems? You can count on those before, during, and after delivery. And by after, I mean forever. Like you cough hard and you might leak a little. I'm so excited to meet the little guy! Just make sure you hold him in past Saturday, k?
yay I'm so excited for you! you are so close! I hear you on the begging to get induced that would be so nice. I was actually scheduled to be induced on my due date, but the little stinker came three days earlier and decided to give me contractions two whole days before that. oh man.. I guess you never know....good luck!
Have I mentioned how I hate that last month. Totally hate the face fat. But good news, with me, it's the first place I lose it. Lots of water weight. I'll hold a good thought.
oh joni! hang in there girl! just have your dr strip your membranes (several times) if they don't agree to induce you! we got E here a week early....less than 24hrs after they did that!
I think you look so cute...but at this point in the game i know how ya feel! make rocky shave your legs and paint your toes! if he won't paint them, cmon over and i will! seriously! brett kept saying he would, but never did and i had ugly bare toes for the delivery. at least painted toes will help ya feel a little cuter!
I begged my doctor to induce me with sweet Li. I even told her that Dean was so busy with work that he may not make it and she said, "In the state of michigan we can't induce until you are at least a week over due." Grrrr. Anyway, make sure you cry and say you are in pain, and act like you are even if you aren't. (Wait till at least 38 weeks though so his lungs are developed.) Then maybe you can get going sooner. Good luck! Can't wait to see you in like a week!!! Can't wait to meet little Sherlock!
Good luck with convincing your dr to iduce you! Really - good luck - I hope it works! I've heard most dr's won't induce 1st pregnancy. My first was not induced, my second was - I wouldn't choose to be induced again. There were definitely many pros, but overall, I wouldn't choose it again.
I'm so excited for you guys! I can't wait to see the cute little pictures! Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy, and hang in there. Seriously, he'll be here before you know it!. . .and then he'll be a year before you know it!
Joni, I am so happy that you are a head of me in pregnancy so you can give me all the advice. I can't believe you are so close. It seems like it wasn't too long ago that you announced. Good luck with these next few weeks. If you need anything at all let me know. I can't wait to be stay at home mommies together!!!
The last month really is the worst. Reading what you have to say reminds me why I can wait a little longer for another one! If you ask me though, being induced is sooooo much worse than the suffering of waiting longer. I have been induced 3 times and went normally on one. When I went on my own it was so much faster and less painful. I could walk around, sit where I wanted, lay how I wanted, etc. When they hook you up to the pitocin you can get up to go potty that's about it. You are stuck in an uncomfortable hospital bed laying on your side with equipment attached to your belly. Staring at the same boring walls and TV for hours. Oh the memories are not good being induced. If the doctor weren't worried on David I never would have been induced. The first two should have warned me enough. Be patient! He's coming!!!! I really feel for you. I hope all goes well for you.
We want to see a picture of this belly you say you have. I bet you are the cutest pregnant woman ever.
I checked your blog every day, and Yay, you have a new post!! :)
You know, preganancy counts as raising your child. It is the hardest thing and the most rewarding thing....and this "trend" of "hardest but rewarding" thing will NEVER end once you have a kid.
Good luck!!
I am totally with you Jonesy! I have less than 3 weeks left, and I am questioning just how much bigger I can really get. Of course, this is also my third, so I am sure I am bigger than you. ;)
Your list of funny things made me laugh, since many are similar to many. My 2 year old has even started to copy the grunt I make whenever I bend over, or stand up, or move in general.
I, too, rarely shave my legs, but that is because it isn't really necessary when I am pregnant. I think not growing hair is God's way of giving us a break since we can't really bend over anyway.
Hang in there chica. He will seriously be here before you know it, and all of this uncomfortableness and waiting will be forgotten. Just don't have your boy before I have mine, or else I will be insanely jealous!
Hey Jones- this is totally the month where it is socially OK to wear sweats and T-shirts almost all the time! Take advantage of it. I totally think that this month is the worst so that when the labor pains start comming you don't care you just want the baby out. Oh,and my Dr. stripped my membranes the Dr. appointment before I was due with both Andi and Nick. It started my contractions both times and I had them within 24 hours. They came three and five days early. Of course after I had my membranes stripped I went home and started frantically cleaning my house. It is amazing how vacuuming the cars will really get the contractions going!! Good luck!!
Joann
So exciting! These last weeks are the worst, but them the real fun begins...it'll be worth it! :)
i am so excited for you.
I wish I had advice. I don't. I'm just excited to meet him! What a lucky little guy...such a positive mommy! I will be sobbing/lying on the floor/who knows when this happens for me. Thanks for being positive--and best of luck in the final stretch! (no pun intended...)
At the end of this pregnancy and maternity pants and shirts weren't fitting so well, Andy joked that I should just get a tarp and cut a hole in it. Not funny to a 9-month pregnant hormonal woman. Hang in there!!!!
Good luck with the last month! You're beautiful.
Also, it is easier to take care of a baby inside of you than outside. So, I guess hold to that good thought for a few more weeks.
Oh yeah, and you may want to ask yourself about leakage problems after the baby comes ;) . . . but why worry about that now when it's not even happened yet?!
You can do it!!
My mom told me when I was 9 months pregnant and getting anxious that once they come and you're up all night long you'll wish that you could just put them back in there just for one night so you can get some sleep. She was right. I have to admit I did think that would be nice once or twice:) Hang in there girl...you're almost there. This post made me laugh:)
