I would just like to write a little about sounds that bring me comfort. I heard one today and it got me thinking of all the things I love to hear.
The lawn mower - This means that it's warm and sunny and that the grass is growing. It makes me feel like everything is ok. I love listening to the lawn being mowed.
The birds in the morning - "In the leafy tree tops the birds sing good morning." I know that for some they start singing a little too early but "they are the first to see the sun, they MUST tell everyone." I just LOVE it.
Rain - I love the sound of rain, especially in the morning.
Cristofori's Dream - When I was around the age of 12 -14ish my best friend would play this song. Oh how I loved to hear it. Then my sister Sara learned how to play it. It's beautiful.
Laughing - I love to laugh and love to hear laughing.

Dean in the shower is my most favorite sound. Puts me to sleep faster than a kick to the head.
The kids laughing together...It means they aren't fighting. Nothing finer than that.
I agree with those sounds except the song I have never heard it. Funny Josh and I were on a walk today talking about smells and how they do the same with bringing comfort. His was wood like wood being framed in a home. As for me its all the smell of a freshly mowed lawn! Happy Spring to you.

I Love the sound of music in my ears when I go running. It keeps me motivated.
I Love smells too.....
I love the smell of the rain (when it gets the dirt wet and the asphalt) it's so refreshing.
I love the smell of new plastic shower curtains....I know I am weird
I love the smell of fresh bread baking in the oven, any kind but banana bread, pumpkin bread, and cinnamon bread are my favorite.
I love the smell of a new baby or clean infant with all the yummy baby lotions. Oh that is the best!
I love the smell of freshly cut grass cause yes it does make me happy for the warm weather we have been waiting for.
Thanks for getting my brain working in the morning, it's always good to get the motor started upstairs in my head sooner in the day rather than later if ya know what I mean!!

i love all of your sounds. especially "cristifori's dream." so beautiful.
for some odd reason i take comfort in the sound of sports on tv in the background. mostly during football season. it reminds me of my childhood. a familiar sound of the weekend. i can't stand to watch sports but i like the back ground noise as i go about my business.

so good! Sounds definitly summun up feelings of comfort. The sound of waves rolling on the shore comforts me. I hear you on the lawn mower- there's something about the smell too. I almost cry when I hear the kids laughing together. That's more than a comfort. It's almost spiritual. You're family is adorable.
