Snow in the South

We keep hearing about the big storm of '93.  Yes, it could be possible that '93 was the last time that Alabama saw snow.... until today.  It snowed for a solid 2.5 to 3 hours.  It even stuck to the grass and parts of the road.

James was so excited.  We went to the attic, pulled out the snow clothes that we didn't think we would see so soon and headed out to play with the white flakes of fun.

After about 10 minutes of fun we got cold and headed inside.  Had some HOT chocolate, took naps and woke up to even more snow.  James was determined to build a snowman.

It was Rocky's day off and we wanted to do something fun.  So we took James to see Finding Nemo in 3D.  When James woke up from his nap it was time to head to the movie.  So we promised him that he could build a snowman when we got home.

Rule one - When in Alabama don't promise anything that has to do with snow.

Really only one rule is needed.

We saw the movie and when we came out the snow was GONE without a trace.

So we then sang part of the snowman song.."in the sun he melted, melted, melted. In the sun he melted small, small, small."  And James seemed ok with that.  Whew - anything to avoid those 2 year old tantrums.
